When the ground for residence disappears — dismissal, the end of studies, leaving for good — the permit should be closed. The application goes to the Migration Service and the review takes up to 5 working days. Cancelling does not shut the door: with a new ground the permit is issued again.

Why cancel the permit at all?+
When the ground disappears (dismissal, end of studies, permanent departure), the permit should be surrendered. Otherwise it can raise questions at future entries and applications.
Can a new permit be obtained later?+
Yes. Cancellation does not close the door: with a new ground the permit is issued again. We will help you plan the departure and return.
How long does the cancellation take?+

What if I simply leave and do nothing?+
A permit left open with the ground gone is exactly what gets asked about at the next entry or application. Closing the status properly is cheaper.
