About this service
Organisations that engage volunteers are published in a list on the National Social Service's site and receive a number in it. That number is then quoted in the visa and permit documents of a foreign volunteer.
More in the knowledge base: How does a foreigner get a tax number (IPN) in Ukraine?Who it is for
- Public organisations planning to engage volunteers
- Charitable foundations and institutions with volunteer programmes
- Anyone planning to invite foreign volunteers
What documents are needed
- Extract from the state register
- The organisation's charter
- Details of the volunteer activity it carries out
What it gives you
- The number in the list that is quoted in the visa and permit papers
- The organisation can formally engage volunteers, foreign ones included
- The articles of association checked: a mismatch surfaces before filing, not after
- Two steps in one matter — the listing and the notice about a particular volunteer
How we work
Full support. You hand over the documents, we do the rest.
At every stage one lawyer runs your case, reachable at any time.
What it costs
The fee is fixed in the contract before the work starts. Case expenses are paid separately.
Converted from US dollars at the National Bank rate of 07.09.2026, rounded down to the hundred.
- Checking that the organisation meets the requirements
- Preparing the letter to the National Social Service
- Filing and support until publication in the list
- Handing over the number the organisation is listed under
The price is the lawyer's work. State duties, notary, translations and insurance are paid separately: those amounts depend on your case.
For companies: an invoice and a full set of accounting documents.

Frequently asked questions
What is the number for?+
It is quoted in the visa and permit documents as 'listed under No.'. Without it the Migration Service has no confirmation that the organisation actually engages volunteers.
How long does it take?+
Three working days to publication in the list. We allow two weeks to cover correspondence with the Service.
Can the notice about a specific volunteer be filed at the same time?+
Yes, and that is the usual order: the organisation is listed first, then the notice about engaging the foreigner is filed. We run both steps together.
Who keeps this list?+
The National Social Service. The list is published on its website, and that is where the organisation's number comes from.
What is checked in the organisation's documents?+
The articles of association and the register entry above all: whether volunteering is provided for and whether the details match. That is what most often sends a filing back to be redone.
The organisation has worked with volunteers for years. Does it still need listing?+
Yes, if you are engaging a foreign volunteer: the visa and permit papers quote the number in the list, and without it there is nothing to confirm the organisation's status.
