About this service
A foreigner needs a tax number before most other documents: without it there is no employment, no bank account and no business. The application is filed on form 1-ДР with the tax office and can be done under a power of attorney. The file depends on whether a residence permit is already in hand.
More in the knowledge base: How does a foreigner get a tax number (IPN) in Ukraine?Who it is for
- Foreigners who need the number for work, a bank or a business
- Those who already hold a residence permit and those who do not — the file differs
- Anyone who has lost the card and needs it reissued
What documents are needed
- With a permit: the permit, both sides, and the residence registration certificate
- Without a permit: a scan or translation of the passport's first page and the border-crossing stamp
- Place of birth, phone number, address in the country of citizenship
- A notarised power of attorney
What it gives you
- The number without which there is no bank account, no employment and no sole proprietorship
- No trip to the tax office: filing and collection are done under a power of attorney
- The spelling of your name settled at the start — it carries into every later document
- The card in hand 3–5 days from the date the power of attorney is signed
How we work
Full support. You hand over the documents, we do the rest.
At every stage one lawyer runs your case, reachable at any time.
What it costs
The fee is fixed in the contract before the work starts. Case expenses are paid separately.
Converted from US dollars at the National Bank rate of 07.09.2026, rounded down to the hundred.
- Working out which file you need: with a permit, no passport translation is required
- Preparing the application on form 1-ДР
- Drawing up the power of attorney for filing and collection
- Filing with the tax office and collecting the card
The price is the lawyer's work. State duties, notary, translations and insurance are paid separately: those amounts depend on your case.
For companies: an invoice and a full set of accounting documents.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to go to the tax office myself?+
No. Filing and collection are done under a power of attorney. The only thing you do in person is visit a notary to have it drawn up.
How long does it take?+
Three to five working days from the date the power of attorney is signed. The term does not start earlier, so the notary is not the step to postpone.
Is a passport translation needed?+
If you have a residence permit and a registration certificate, no. If you do not have a permit yet, yes. That is why our first question is what you already hold.
Can the number be obtained while I am abroad?+
The power of attorney has to be notarised, and a Ukrainian notary will not certify it without the border-crossing stamp. So we first look at what you hold and tell you whether it is possible in your case.
What if the card is lost?+
We apply again: two sets of documents are prepared and form 5-ДР is added. The same work, only a larger file.
Do I need the number if I do not work in Ukraine?+
Employers are not the only ones who ask for it: without the number there is no bank account, no sole proprietorship and no property registration. That is why it is usually obtained before anything else.
