About this service

A renewal is the same employer application to the regional employment centre, but with a hard filing deadline: the window opens 50 calendar days before the permit expires and closes 20 calendar days before. A missed deadline means not a renewal but a new permit from scratch. And because the foreigner's residence permit rests on the work permit, the work permit is always renewed first.

What if the filing window is missed?+

Renewal becomes impossible: a brand-new permit is needed, and the gap puts the foreigner's residence permit at risk. That is why we set reminders in advance.

Should the residence permit be renewed at the same time?+

The residence permit is tied to the work permit, so right after the renewal we prepare the residence permit extension. We can run both cases together.

How early should we start?+

The window opens 50 calendar days before the permit expires and closes 20 calendar days before. We calculate those dates from your permit and remind you in advance.

Can it be renewed if the position has changed?+

A change of data goes into the permit by a separate procedure. If one is due, we do it before filing for the renewal — otherwise the documents no longer agree with each other.

How long does the review take?+
