About this service
The permit exists in the register, so losing the paper does not take away the right to work. The physical document is still required by what comes next: renewing the residence permit, inspections, applications to other authorities. The duplicate is issued by the same regional employment centre on the employer's application.

Frequently asked questions
Is the permit valid while there is no duplicate?+
The right to work remains, as the permit is recorded in the registers. But new procedures (such as the residence permit renewal) will need the physical document, so do not postpone.
Does a new permit have to be applied for?+
No. A duplicate of the existing permit is issued — the term and the conditions stay the same.
Who files the application?+
The employer, as with the original application. We prepare the documents for signature and file them ourselves.
What if the permit is damaged rather than lost?+
The same duplicate procedure. A damaged document is better replaced before another authority declines to accept it.
